MAMBILA HYDROELECTRIC POWER PROJECT LOCAL CONTENT YOUTH EMPOWERMENT AND SKILLS ACQUISITION TRAINING PROGRAMM

APPLICATIONS ARE HEREBY INVITED FROM SUITABLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES FOR ADMISSION INTO ANY OF THE MAMBILLA HYDROELECTRIC POWER PROJECT LOCAL CONTENT YOUTH EMPOWERMENT AND SKILLS ACQUISITION TRAINING PROGRAMME The Federal Government of Nigeria through the Ministry of Power, the owners of Mambilla Hydroelectric Power Project with National power Training Institute of Nigeria are arranging a training targeting the Nigerian Youth under the Mambilla Hydroelectric Power Project Local Content Youth Empowerment and skills Acquisition Programme The Mambilla hydropower project is a 3.05GW hydroelectric infrastructure being developed on the Dongo River near Baruf, in Kakara Village of Taraba State, Nigeria. The project is being undertaken by the Federal Ministry of Power and private investors. When fully operational the project will be the country’s biggest power plant, producing approximately 4.7 billion kWh of electricity a year. The project is estimated to cost $5.8bn and will generate up to 50,000 local jobs during the construction phase. The Project Development Committee’s local content thematic group in conjunction with Federal Ministry of Power and the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN) has the vision and strategic plan to empower about 20,000 youths (age 18-35) across the country to take advantage of the opportunities the project presents through requisite skills acquisition training.
